The Lord be with each and every one of you!

Today, as we begin the holiest of all weeks in our year, we enter Jerusalem, the holy city, with Jesus as he prepares to celebrate the Passover with his disciples. It is a bittersweet moment, as Jesus continues to show the world God’s great love for humanity by healing and preaching and praying, yet some have turned against him and denied that he is the Son of God, despite the mounting evidence that his power does indeed rest in the God of Israel.

But, to those who truly believe, God is indeed with us! Emmanuel has come to save us from sin and evil in the world. In the times when we cry out to God in anguish and fear, we learn to place our hope and trust in the Lord.

Scripture:

In the Morning Prayer for this Palm Sunday, in the first recited Psalm, Psalm 118, we hear words of hope and trust in the Lord:

“In my time of trial I called out to the Lord:
he listened, and led me to freedom.
The Lord is with me,
I will fear nothing……
The Lord, my help, is with me……

Lord, keep me safe……

The Lord is God, he shines upon us!

……. Give thanks to the Lord for he is good,
and his kindness is forever.” (Psalm 118)

May Almighty God bless you, + In the Name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
