Aloha nui & Peace be with you on this Monday of Holy Week!

In today’s Responsorial Psalm, Psalm 27, we hear a very familiar refrain, echoed by Christian believers over the many centuries:

“The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom (or what) should I fear?
The Lord is my life’s refuge; of whom (or what) should I be afraid?” (Psalm 27)

In today’s Gospel, Jesus is in Bethany at the home of his dear friend, Lazarus, whom he had raised from the dead, with Lazarus’ sisters, Martha and Mary, who serve the Lord both physically and spiritually.

And, “The large crowd of the Jews found out that he (Jesus) was there and came,
not only because of him, but also to see Lazarus, whom he had raised from the dead.”

There is something inside each human being, placed there by our Creator, that springs eternal. That something is hope. We hear it in today’s Responsorial Psalm and in today’s Gospel. That, through the Lord there is light and salvation, that there is resurrection!

We continue to place our hope in the Lord who destroys fear and brings resurrection!

Let us pray!

+ In the Name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen!

Mahalo nui,
