The Grace and Peace of Jesus Christ our Lord be with you and your ‘ohana this Holy Saturday!

It is the great feast of the Church!

It is on this night, that, once a year, we gather to renew our faith in God’s benevolent love and mercy. It is the night of turning darkness into light. In our readings, we hear of trials and tribulations. But, we also hear of triumphs and hopes answered. It is the night of resurrection from the dead, of salvation for God’s people. And, we are God’s people! Let us rejoice in the Lord always! Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

Scripture:

“In the beginning……….let there be light………God saw how good it was.” (Genesis 1)

“The angel of God led Israel’s camp………” (Exodus 14)

“All you are thirsty, come to the water! You who have no money, come, receive grain and eat………
Heed me, and you shall eat well…….that you may have life.” (Isaiah 55)

“That we too might live in newness of life.
…..we believe that we shall live with him. We know that Christ, raised from the dead, dies no more.” (Romans 6)

“Mary and the other Mary………..fearful yet overjoyed.
Then Jesus said to them, ‘Do not be afraid.” (Matthew 28)

Indeed, “Do Not Be Afraid!” The words of Jesus for us. The words of hope and salvation. The words of everlasting life. “Do Not Be Afraid!”

May God bless you, + In the Name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
