Fr. Brian’s daily message and mass on this Thursday, the 2nd week of Easter:

Peace be with you!

On this Thursday of the 2nd week of Easter, we hear about two martyrs whose memorials it is today: St. George and St. Adalbert. St. George is the Patron Saint of the countries of England, Ethiopia and Georgia. St. Adalbert is the Patron Saint of the countries of the Czech Republic and Poland.

We have a great history of people who died for their faith. It proves to us the power of faith, even to the point of death.

Today, in our readings, we hear of obedience to God, the goodness of God, the closeness of God and the trustworthiness of God. And, the ultimate goal of eternal life.

As we continue to adapt to the challenges of our times, the words of Queen Lilioukalani ring true:

“He oia mau nō kākou.” (We endure)

The Blessing of Almighty God be upon you, + In the Name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Alleluia.
Scripture:

“We must obey God rather than men.” (Acts 5)

“I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise shall be ever in my mouth. Taste and see how good the Lord is; blessed the one who takes refuge in him. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; and those who are crushed in spirit he saves.” (Psalm 34)

“God is trustworthy. Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life.” (John 3)

Blessings, much pule & much pono,
