A Reflection by Fr. Brian:

(a personal story of Hurricane Harvey, continued from May14, the conclusion)

So, our group was booked on five separate flights into Dallas-Fort Worth. We left Chicago and arrived in Dallas late the third day. We couldn’t get a flight out until the next morning, so we caught some sleep in the terminal before our morning flight the next day.

As we slept in the Dallas airport terminal, we watched CNN and saw that Hurricane Harvey was still hitting Houston with rain. Well, we managed to get out!

So, we finally arrived at McAllen airport in the Rio Grande Valley, which was not the airport we left from. So, family had to come and pick people from our group at an airport about 45 miles away.

But, we made it! Wow, what an adventure! And then for the final surprise! Guess where our luggage was? Still in Chicago!

It all goes to show you that God does indeed take care of you despite the setbacks and the things that are thrown your way.

So ends the Hurricane Harvey adventure of some South Texas pilgrims to the land of Father Damien!

St. Damien, thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!
