Peace be with you and your ohana this Wednesday 6th Week of Easter, the feast of St. Bernardine of Siena!

St. Paul has some encouraging words for us in today’s First Reading from the Acts of the Apostles:

“The God who made the world and all that is in it, the Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in sanctuaries made by human hands, nor is he served by human hands because he needs anything. Rather it is he who gives to everyone life and breath and everything. He made from one the whole human race to dwell on the entire surface of the earth, and he fixed the ordered seasons and the boundaries of their regions, so that people might seek God, even perhaps grope for him and find him, though indeed he is not far from any one of us. For ‘In him we live and move and have our being.'”

(Acts 17)

Groping to seek and find God, this is what we, as humans, find ourselves doing. But, “he is not far from any one of us!” As Paul says, “In him we live and move and have our being.”

This is the connection between heaven and earth, between the human and the divine. It is the umbilical cord that cannot be severed. And, we, though at times, find ourselves with this umbilical cord wrapped around our necks, need all the more to trust in God! For, God is the source of life and we need to place our trust in him. God has not abandoned us. No, just the opposite! God has taken us in, as a hen takes in her brood. And, let us rejoice in Easter joy! Alleluia!

Blessing, pono and much pule to all!

Praying for a safe and smooth return to celebrating mass!
