Aloha nui to all of our wonderful faithful out there!

Your prayers have been awesome!

And the Lord said to Paul in today’s First Reading, “Do not be afraid.”

Jesus says this a lot in the Gospels. He knows that we, weak as we are, need to be reassured that our fears are our own doing. With God, there is no fear. God doesn’t fear. It’s a human emotion.

So, as we plug along this road to recovery, let us be prepared for joy in our lives, because that is the hope, to which we all aspire to. Let nothing take that away from us! Nothing!

Today’s saint, St. Rita of Cascia, lived a tough life. She was born and raised in poverty. Her parents arranged a marriage for her to a man who abused her and was violent. She is the patron saint of difficult and abusive marriages. When her abusive husband died and then her children died, she pursued her dream to become a nun and spent the rest of her life in the convent, praying, working and counseling visitors. Let her example be for us a beacon of hope in a sometimes dark world.

Scripture:

“Do not be afraid. No one will attack and harm you.” (Acts 18)

“God is king of all the earth.” (Psalm 47)

“You will weep and mourn, you will grieve, but your grief will become joy, and no one will take your joy away from you.” (John 16)

Amen! Alleluia!

Blessings, Pono & Pule!
