He is risen! Alleluia!
On this the solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord, body and soul into heaven to be with his heavenly father, we have the fulfillment of a promise that God made to us that he would send his only son to us to teach us and show us the way back to the father and to never leave us as abandoned children in the world as we experience the presence of the Holy Spirit in the world.
The power of God is evident in the Gospel and it should bring us joy that we have such a powerful and benevolent God despite what, sometimes, we experience in the world.
Scripture:
“Wait for the promise of the Father about which you have heard me speak. You will be baptized with the Holy Spirit. You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you.” (Acts of the Apostles 1)
“God mounts his throne to shouts of joy: a blare of trumpets for the Lord. King of all the earth is God. God reigns over the nations.” (Psalm 47)
May God give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation resulting in knowledge of him. May the eyes of your hearts be enlightened, that you may know what is the hope that belongs to his call, what are the riches of glory and what is the surpassing greatness of his power.” (Ephesians 1)
“Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” (Matthew 28)

We will be practicing social distancing, the wearing of masks and the use of sanitizer as we return to our churches. The first weekend masses will be on June 6 and 7. The schedule of masses is still the same as before.
