Aloha nui to all our parish ohana on this great Feast of Pentecost! The Coming of the Holy Spirit into the church and the world as sent by God though His own Son, Jesus Christ!

With the Spirit comes peace. We pray for peace in the hearts of all, in mind, body and spirit.

Tomorrow is a National Day of Prayer for the victims of the COVID-19 pandemic. The whole country is being asked to take a few moments at noon to pray for all those who have fallen to the disease. Let us join in solidarity with the rest of the country and pray for the repose of the souls of all the over 100,000 victims.

We should also add all victims of violence in our world. The peace that Jesus offers, the peace of the Holy Spirit of God, has come upon the world to soothe our ills and provide comfort and strength to all those who suffer physically, mentally and spiritually. Amen!

Scripture:

“There came from the sky a strong driving wind . . . . as the Spirit enabled them to proclaim.” (Acts of the Apostles 2)

“Lord, send out your Spirit, and renew the face of the earth.” (Psalm 104)

“Brothers and sisters: No one can say, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ except by the Holy Spirit. There are different gifts, service and workings but the same Spirit, the same Lord, the same God. To each individual the manifestation of the Spirit is given for some benefit.” (1 Corinthians 12)

“Receive the Holy Spirit.” (John 20)

Blessings, pono and pule!
