Aloha nui to all!

On this Memorial of St. Anthony of Padua, Priest and Doctor of the Church, we are reminded of the power of the Word of God and the power of preaching that Word!

Following Christ is a constant challenge! Just ask Elisha in the First Reading today. It requires saying “yes” to the Lord constantly. But, it also means saying “no” to evil.

Let us ask the Father in Heaven to give us what we need at this time. Through the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus, and through the power of the Holy Spirit, may each day bring with it a new blessing for you and your ohana! Amen!

Scripture:

“You are my inheritance, O Lord. Keep me, O God, for in you I take refuge. I set the Lord ever before me; with him at my right hand I shall not be disturbed.” (Psalm 16)

“Let your ‘Yes’ mean ‘Yes’, and your ‘No’ mean ‘No’.” (Matthew 5)

It is in thanksgiving that I would like to recognize all of those in our parish who give of their time, talent and treasure selflessly day in and day out! These are the real heroes here on Molokai!.And, they follow in the footsteps of countless others who, in past generations, have done the same for our church. Our gratitude is not nearly enough to express our thanks to all of these “saints” who give and give and give from their hearts for others. May the Lord bless you and keep you! May his light shine upon you. And, may you inspire others to do the same. And, to pay it forward. Amen!

Blessings, pono and pule!
