Peace to all as we open up our churches here on topside Molokai for weekend masses.
This weekend we celebrate Trinity Sunday which has special meaning for Catholics since it celebrates the greatest mystery of our faith, the Blessed Trinity!
Today’s Scriptures speak of professing and showing our faith through persistence, whether convenient or inconvenient. They speak of being self-possessed and putting up with hardship. Praising God and his salvation should flow from our minds, mouths and hearts as we express our hope in the Lord. Being poor in spirit as well as being physically poor helps us to give our all in seeking salvation and the Kingdom of heaven.
Scripture:
“Be persistent in your faith whether it is convenient or inconvenient. Be self-possessed in all circumstances; put up with hardship.” (2 Timothy 4)
“I will sing of your salvation. My mouth shall be filled with your praise, with your glory day by day. I will always hope and praise you ever more and more.” (Psalm 71)
“Blessed are the poor in spirit; for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 5)
“They have all contributed from their surplus wealth, but this poor widow, from her poverty, has contributed all she had, her whole livelihood.” (Mark 12)
