Much pule to you and your ohana!
As we enter this 18th Week of Ordinary Time we continue to adapt to the times. Our faith is what sustains us and lifts us up when we are down!
This week we celebrate four saints. the Annunciation of the Lord to Mary by the angel Gabriel and the Dedication of the Basilica of St. Mary Major in Rome.
Tuesday is St. John Vianney, a priest and patron of parish priests. He is called the “Cure de Ars” and was known to be in the confessional hearing confessions for up to 16 hours a day!
Wednesday is the Dedication of the Basilica of St. Mary Major in Rome, one of the major basilicas in Rome.
Thursday is the Annunciation of the Lord coming into the world through the womb of Mary by the angel Gabriel.
Friday is St. Sixtus, II, a Pope and his companions who were all martyred for their faith.
Saturday is St. Dominic, a priest known for his preaching and founder of the Order of St. Dominic, the Dominicans.
In next weekend’s Gospel, we hear of doubt in the Lord’s power which leads to fear. But, Jesus says to “Take courage!” Be stouthearted in the Lord. For truly, He is the Son of God! Amen!
Scripture:
“The Lord was not in the wind. The Lord was not in the earthquake. The Lord was not in the fire.” But, there was a tiny whispering sound, The Lord was in the whisper. (1 Kings 19)
“The Lord proclaims peace. The Lord himself will give his benefits.” (Psalm 85)
The Christ, who is over all, God blessed forever. Amen.” (Romans 9)
“I wait for the Lord; my soul waits for his word.” (Psalm 130)
“Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid. O you of little faith, why did you doubt? Truly you are the Son of God.” (Matthew 14)
