Aloha nui to all on this feast of St. Isidore, the patron saint of farmers! I think the Molokai High School should adopt him as their patron saint.
Scripture:
“It is the decision of the Holy Spirit not to place on you any burden beyond these necessities.” (Acts of the Apostles 15)
“I will give you thanks among the peoples, O Lord. For your mercy towers to the heavens, and your faithfulness to the skies.” (Psalm 57)
“This is my commandment: love one another as I love you. No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. It was not you who chose me, but I who chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit that will remain.” (John 15)
Our Scriptures today call us to know that the Holy Spirit does not place any burden on us that is beyond our capabilities to handle it. They also speak of giving thanks for God’s mercy and faithfulness. The Gospel speaks of love for one another as God loves us and that we must bear fruit for the Kingdom of God.
Blessings, pono and pule!
